Adjuntas is
known as "La Ciudad del Gigante Dormido" (city of the
sleeping giant) because a mountain formation called by that name.
Adjuntas was founded in August 11, 1815, by Diego Maldonado. The
first church was inaugurated in |

August 24,
1815. In 1950.It is also known as "La Suiza de Puerto Rico"
because of its low temperatures. As a fact, the first Health Center
in the island was founded in this city. While in Adjuntas a MUST
visit is Museo Casa Pueblo, they have a ''Mariposario'' and they
breed butterflies for research purposes. See pictures below. |
