Pueblo of Aibonito, Puerto Rico, Pictures of festival de las flores

Aibonito was the first municipality in organizing a flowers festival. This was founded in March 13, 1824 by Manuel Vélez and it is Called "La Ciudad de las Flores". Aibonito derives its name from a name given by the Indians "Jatibonuco" which means "river of the night". Aibonito reaches one of the highest elevation point in the island Verdún peak (760 m); The first Catholic temple in Aibonito was built in 1825. It was replaced by the current temple which was started in 1887 and completed in 1897.
