The town of Guánica was founded in 1508, it derives its name from the Taíno Indian term, which means "Here is a place with water". The town of Guánica is also known as ''El Pueblo de las Doce Calles'' (the town of the twelve streets) Guánica was first explored by Juan Ponce de León In 1508.

The images shown here were taken in our last photo field trip.
Guánica 02.19.2006. We had a great time visitig this beautiful town. The following images are testament of this unforgetable trip. Our timing was perfect, a beautiful local wedding was just taking place.
