Photos and snap pictures of Jayuya, Puerto Rico

Colorful Jayuya

The town of Jayuya was founded in 1883 but it made an independent municipality in 1911. Jayuya derives its name from a local Indian Chief Hayuya which means "Lugar de guayo" (place of guayo).

This town is also known as "La Capital Indigena" (the indigenous capital). Muchas gracias to all the employees of El Cemi Museum and Casa Museo Canales for making these images better with their help.
