Palacete Los Moreau:
Located in Moca Puerto Rico, el Palacete
Los Moreau
holds a beautiful story within its walls and floors. Designed by the
French engineer Paul
Servojean by
thenin charge of La
Central Coloso
in Aguada and constructed by then distinguished constructor Mr.
Manuel Gómez Tejera.
It took 12 years to be completed and some records shows that this is
the 2nd house built with concrete in Puerto Rico. The house was
finished in 1905 in the middle of over 100 acres, mostly cultivated
with coffee and sugar cane. This majestic place is the inspiration of Enrique
E Laguerre for
his novel
''La
Llamarada''.
In 1993, the municipality of Moca acquires the property (see pictures
below) and name it ''El
Palacete Los Moreau''
in honor to the fictional characters from ''La
Llamarada'' novel.
El
Palacete is open from Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Fieldtrips can make arrangements to visit it on weekends but must
call in advance. Tours are free of charge. This place is also
available for cultural events. El Palacete is also available for
weddings. If you'd like only to get your wedding pictures taken here,
there is a well worth $25.00 fee.
